I agree wholeheartedly with your article... But with one sad and painful difference... I believe we humans crossed the Rubicon long ago. There is no painless recovery from the mess we've created. As a species we have done some amazing things. Many of them are quite laudable. We have also severely damaged the life sustaining capacity of our planet. Hopefully, some simpler lifeforms will survive after we have wiped ourselves off the planet.
