I just discovered your comment on my article, “I Hate You!”

I originally wrote that article 9 or 10 years ago (and posted it on Newsvine)… Long before the hateful division we have today. There was plenty of hate and division then, but nothing compared to what we have now. That article seems even more pertinent now.

I think my political thinking is more liberal than yours… but I sincerely appreciate your candor, and if you were running against Trump, I’d vote for you in a heartbeat!

I have always contended that a fundamental plank of liberal ideology is a willingness to compromise… but compromise is a two way street, and I don’t see much of that thinking on the other side. When I was younger, Republicans and Democrats commonly worked together. Somehow we have to get back to that.

I was worried that she would get nothing accomplished in a Republican held congress.

That is still my worry. Even so, there would be less harm to our country if my dog was the President.

For the record, I did vote for Hillary Clinton. As you said,

She spoke well, she was more than qualified, but she just wasn’t my candidate.

I actually favored Bernie, but I thought he would be pilloried because he describes himself as a Democratic Socialist (oh, horrors). I now think that was a gross mistake… I couldn’t imagine in a million years that Trump would win… Boy was I wrong!!!! What an eye opener.
