All I can say is people who are worried about inconvenience because of the notion of using less or doing less will be horrified when they discover the inconveniences that come with total societal collapse.
I've had the good fortune to travel all over the world. I have seen abject poverty. Having to give up next day delivery of the latest cell phone, or having any kind of phone at all, or... Cars... Airplanes... Modern medicine... I could go on...
The day is coming when laying on a scruffy rug on a dirt floor in a one room stone building with no electricity, no running water, no toilet, a smokey wood fire, cuddled up with your sweetheart will seem like a luxury.
I have had a very good life with many luxuries that few on this planet ever get to experience.
I grieve for all who have so much less than I have had, and most especially for all the wild creatures who had no part in creating this mess, but will nevertheless suffer greatly because of the actions of my species.
